Is Société générale generally a prestigious bank, like GS or MS are for IB? I would put DB in the list, but DB is not respectable dont @ me.

I can’t believe you’ve done this
Depends which area of IB and which geography you refer to. For instance, SG is a reference worldwide for structured financial products, especially within the Equity market. Not that much in Fixed Income. In Europe, overall it is indeed a good sized bank with strong presence a bit everywhere. But in the US, it’s a drop in the Ocean compared to bigger JPM, GS MS and so on. M&A wise, i don’t think it is the go to name you would think of first. Then you have to add the department you would be working at. Regardless of the name of the bank, some departments really will pull you up in your career while others might do the opposite.
Thanks for the insight

It's respected for its quantitative market making in equities, financial engineering for equities, and energy + credit advisory... it's also slightly better than most banks in engineering talent (in Paris).
I agree with this comment
nope - been in IB and never heard of it
But why doesn’t credit Suisse have those things above the e
Lol
I think it depends, in EU definitely
Yeah, I got an offer for a subsidiary in ČR. On one hand it’s a life experience to work abroad, but is the career a growth opportunity
With all those things on top of the e, how can it not be prestigious?
Haha, well my standard of prestige needs 5 é’s. I only see 4 so it’s questionable
Take my upboat!
