So Bytedance is a complete shit show due to 996 and an insanely overbearing procurement process and inability for even the defacto CEO of America to so much as take a shit without getting permission and signatures from Beijing (so I’m told by friends who work there) but what about Tencent? Ratings don’t seem bad from what I can see: have they somehow figured out how to work well with the more independent American business culture that favors results over following rigid processes as Japanese companies such as Toyota or Sony have or are all Chinese companies just a nightmarish for more autonomous not rigidly rule following people to work with?

I've never had someone from ByteDance tell me 996 is actually a thing, and I know several people who work there. I only ever hear that from randos on Blind.
My team (eng) doesn’t have this 996 thing ..
Hi Bytedance, any idea about WLB for Global payments team @Singapore?
