I am going through hireright right now and because they couldn't verify my employment with a previous employer using the phone number I gave them, they are asking me for three things: Alternate contact number Salary key W2 or 1099 Do I really need to provide all three to hireright? They don't make it clear on their website if I need to provide all three or only one is good enough. Furthermore, I don't know how to get a "salary key" from my previous employer. I don't even think my previous employer (start up) HR department is even aware of what a salary key is... Lol
afaik only w2 should be enough
Send them a redacted W2. Hireright and Sterling reps are in an overseas call center (you can guess where) and don't go out of their way to do their jobs. Sending them the document allows them to check the company off.
W2 should suffice . If you are concerned you can mask the money . It should the employers Tin and your social
