Hey folks, My friend has applied for an Analyst role in BofA in the US. He is on L2 visa and has a valid EAD (employment authorisation). Just checking here if anyone can confirm if BofA hires folks on L2 visa? #finance #bofa #L2visa #recruiting #hiring #ead #workauthorization #jobopening
They can only ask if you have work authorization or not and if you will ever need any. They can't ask about visa status, that would be discrimination based on immigration status and against the law.
Thanks for letting me know. I checked with my friend, he said that he was asked a lot more questions from the HR person, like - which visa are you on, which visa is your spouse at, visa end date, EAD end date, etc. Is it okay if the HR asks such questions from applicants? Will this be counted as discrimination as well?
When applying for role for the question “Do you require sponsorship now or in future” answer No
Thanks! My friend did the same for this question. Since you are in BofA, are you aware of anyone who might be working there on L2 visa?
I work on H4-EAD .. just so you know. They don’t sponsor in my division and that was the only question they asked - if I need sponsorship now or in the future, to which I answered - No
I don't see why they would have any issues with it
