SiriusXM offer?

Greetings everyone, I've received a job offer from SiriusXM for a Senior Software Engineering role in Irving, Texas. I'm interested in learning more about the company culture and what it's like to work there. Given the current market volatility and instability, I'm unsure if it's a wise decision to leave my current position for this opportunity. Additionally, I'd appreciate assistance in evaluating the offer. The total compensation offered is $210,000 for the Senior Software Engineering position in Irving, TX. Can you provide insights on whether this is a competitive offer? Current TC: 150K #siriusxm

All SiriusXM can offer me this holiday season is $5.99/month for the Premium package. The downside is I must Iisten to Howard Stern once a week. Good deal or not?

I worked at Pandora for some years before being acquired by Sirius. No one liked their leadership style and dozens upon dozens of us left back in 2018-2019. Not sure what it’s been like since.

The NBC office in NYC is in the same building as SiriusXM. I’ve talked to a few people there and they said it’s a mixed bag depending on the team that you’re on. Overall though they said it’s okay and a decent place to work at, but they’re looking due to recent layoffs in media/entertainment and uncertain market. Unless it’s a huge jump in comp, I would stay for now.

It is a 40% jump in TC. In my book, that’s a huge jump

Yup just saw - when I had posted this OP didn’t put his initial TC.

Sams TC and location? I’d stay at sams unless it’s a huge bump in TC. The Walton empire is solid af

if you getting a bump, go for it. Do you mind sharing what is their interview process like? and what they look for? LC mediums and Sys design and/or ? Please let me know if a DM is better

The interview process comprised three rounds. In the first, a 45-minute coding session involved two LeetCode-like questions. The second round included a 45-minute system design segment, a coding question (similar to a medium-level LeetCode problem), and a brief extension discussion. The third round was a managerial interview. Overall, the process wasn't very tough.

I currently work for SiriusXM. I agree that it's definitely a mixed bag depending what team you're on and what manager you get. Leadership is extremely toxic here and this recent year was extremely stressful to the point where they took away our half-day Friday benefit and asked us to work nights and weekends. The culture has been getting worse and worse. It's gotten pretty toxic. Hoping the next year improves, but not optimistic. Unless, it's a huge jump in TC, I'd stay where you are.

Totally agree here, this year has been brutal

Agree, I would stay put. Have no faith in Liberty/SXM, but Walmart’s not going anywhere.

210 TC for an SSE is a great offer, promos are easy at SXM so if you perform well you will get into better Band easily

Sirius XM TechTricks Dec 17, 2023

Promos are not that easy anymore after the influx from Disney

Sirius XM AnXy47 Dec 17, 2023

Culture is toxic, pay is bad and leadership has no idea what they are doing. This company will fail in the next 3-5 years don’t switch.

Sirius XM hjkiuy Dec 17, 2023

Not sure about Promos being easy as per one of the comments. There is a new process this year so we will know more. Also ask for quarterly vest on your joining stock grant instead of the default annual one
