Seems like you folks are hiring for quite a few open positions. Love the original vision of the company and think it’s really cool mapping technology, but unsure what to think after reading through reviews. Is there still a poor relationship between execs and employees? And I know you folks lean heavily on Amazon processes - so does that mean you stack rank and PIP underperformers out? Also, do you see the company being able to excel by capturing the auto market or is that a pipe dream? Any insight is much appreciated. #referral #mapbox
Processes like postmortems and PRFAQ are Amazonian (as I understand it) but no stack ranking or PIP. There was a RIF a year+ ago. Auto is very real.
Thank you for the heads up. Don’t mind the PRFAQ but think stack ranking is atrocious. How is the overall employee sentiment after the RIF and failed unionizing drive? Honestly love maps but very concerned with what happened a while back.
The failed drive was very difficult and led to a ton of departures of good people. But that was a foregone conclusion the moment they announced. Not much of a hangover these days imo because there are so few people from that era left.
