By 9am rumors were flying today that Travel has been quarantined. At 10am one of our FEARLESS leaders Terry Williams reported that all is well and nothing going on. 11am an email from Travels VP expressing sadness for an unexpected passing of an employee while stating they don’t know if it was COVID related. All employees in LP2 were given the rest of the day off with pay while they bring in a deep cleaning crew. Hummm. Stay away from Costco Home Office. #covid-19 #coronavirus #costco
Jesus. Stay safe. 🙏
Costco HQ in Issaquah? (outside Seattle)
Correct.
Is this in Issaquah, WA?
This is in Issaquah. Building is LP2
Keep in mind there are shuttles between LP2/LP1 and Main HQ. They don’t clean after every stop so ya, expect it to spread. If it was the CV then they were at end stage - meaning spreading it for at least a week or two because of NOT working from home..
Insane level of incompetence.
:( was the deceased already in the hospital? When was the last day of in-office work?
Damn that’s crazy! I hope you’re safe and there’s some sort of actual information for you guys soon
Costco.. good place to shop.. bad place to work
I hate shopping there too.
Email from 3:30 pm. To: All Home Office employees From: Ron Vachris and Peter Gruening As some of you may have heard, we received sad news this morning that a Costco Travel employee passed away at home last night. Exact details of the employee’s passing are unknown at this point, and we have no information that this was related to COVID-19. However, to be cautious and because we lack important details, we decided to close LP-2 for the remainder of the day for a deep cleaning. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
Any updates?
This is so wrong. Is it true that your tech is so antiquated that working from home is impossible? I literally heard people there work on desktops at times and don’t even have laptops. Is this for real? Like.... what the hell
No, not true, at least for Travel. Though I hear we're aeons ahead of home office.
No, this is not true. IT and much of the salaried business CAN work from home. It's upper management that carries this culture to not allow working from home.
And.....?
