Udemy senior SDE offer: $190k base, $10k sign on, 6100 shares of RSU/4years, estimated at $70/share as their current FMV. Is this a good offer? Worth joining? When will they go public? Thanks! YOE: 6 TC: $335k #engineering #software #swe #salarycomparison #tc
Lol Udemy has stocks?
I hope OP meant 6100 units x $70 over 4 years. Which makes it roughly $106k per year in Stonks. Looks like a strong offer, if it IPOs
What happens if the company never goes public? You don't get anything if you leave?
Correct.
There are so many websites like udemy. What makes it special enough to be successful and do IPO someday?
Supply side content itself is a big moat. Building mature consumer and b2b offerings is not easy (b2b is 100mm+ ARR itself). Global TAM is massive. Localized in like 60+ markets which takes years. They’re pretty well positioned, and their recent acq on the b2b side just reinforces that.
Who gave you the 70$ share price number ? Recruiter ?
You should consider this offer. Work life balance is good here
I rejected it, TC is lower than what I’m making right now. Thanks.
Do they have annual bonus, or just base plus stock rsu?
How is udemy culture?
Is $70 the number you come up with by doing math or is this something that HR told you?
6100 dollars of RSUs?
Typo, just corrected it. Thanks
