How is Alaska Airlines for frequent fliers?

Currently UA GS. Moving to Seattle and considering switching to either Delta (would be Diamond/360) or Alaska (would be 100K) 350 #travel #airlines #flying

Hard product and soft product are lacking if you are used to PS/polaris. GGU almost as useless as PP.

How are domestic upgrade odds? That’s what I care about most. Usually paid J intl anyways

SEATAC is almost a captive market, 100K added to align with one world tiers but you could almost joke it’s for Seattle elites. Not as good as GS bc obviously anybody can qualify but 16F on 737-900/max9 gives you a pretty good shot

I get more upgrades to first with platinum/plus on american than ever had on delta with diamond. I also prefer the seats & entertainment system on american. I try to avoid charlotte bc that is the sole airport I’ve ever had significant issues with routes. A few years ago I flew west coast/western half of US and never had an issue ever.

Same, Delta is better if you’re flying international. But you’ll get more upgrades on Alaska w/ MVP.

MVP 100K domestic upgrades are going to be pretty good. Before COVID I was top tier MVP 75k(they didn’t have 100k) and was upgraded about 75-80% of the time. Big downsides to the Alaska plans are only two bags up to 50 pounds free and not 70 pounds, and only one additional companion can be upgraded with you. If you fly with your family you can’t even all be upgraded to Premium Economy for free, only two of you.
