How's life at Amazon bay area (A9)?
How's life when working for Amazon in Bay area? I'm considering a move and that seems a good option, already taking to a recruiter.

Is A9 considered Amazon? It's like LinkedIn being MSFT. Also A9 is visual search, what cloud jobs are there?
1. If during perf the company says you are a top performer but your tc is well beyond your target comp, so sorry no refreshers (even if you are promoted). Are you ok with that? 2. Are you ok with fewer benefits that Google? No free food. No unlimited sick days etc. 3. Are you ok with working more hours (generally)? 4. Are you ok with working with sub par colleagues to the point that you think " who hired this idiot?" If the answer to above questions is "yes", then please move.
So many people at Amazon who’ve been there for more than 2 years are told 1 due to stock price rise. Such bs.
So it's ok if you are at the same level at which you joined. Your tc becomes high for that level. But even on promotion if you are already hitting L+1 tc with base increase, you get zero refreshers. All the stock appreciation you were hoping for is gone. This happened to me. I gave my 2 weeks notice after 2 months, declined counter offer politely (yes, same circus we'll get vp approval for more stocks please stay) and left.
Dont come to amazon, not a9 atleast.. aws maybe but def not a9 or lab..!
Amazon is garbage. Don’t come here. The company is popular to consumers of the product at the expense of employees. They use “frugality” as a leadership principal to underpay you and give you trash hardware.
A9 is now fully integrated with mothership. Same processes for everything. If you’re ok with that, it should be fine for you.
From Google to Amazon? Bold move cotton!
I like working on core cloud projects and Amazon seems ahead in this field.
Honestly man . You might get more interesting and better work but you will sacrifice your free food...U OK with that ?
