Does anyone know people affected by this? What's the plan? Massive governmental project for water reclamation? Desalination? I'm not Indian but the idea of millions going without water scares seriously depressed me. It seems that the water that should have come during monsoons is instead dumping in the American Midwest. If you're a rich Indian (or a rich person from anywhere) now is the time to act. We need to avert this and future crises. https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/20/world/chennai-satellite-images-reservoirs-water-crisis-trnd/index.html
Water will bring world war 3. It’s going to be the next big problem
I love your woke-ness OP. Very few people are concerned about the water crisis in India. It is happening right now. Which is hard for most Americans to imagine. Bangalore is also close to reaching day 0 in water crisis.
Hyperempathy is common in people on the autism spectrum
Are there any ideas that normal people like us can do to help? Climate change, deforestation seems like large changes that govt. needs to take up.
Wow that’s horrible. I wish we would take this more seriously
And still there's so many questions from people working in the US who are debating going back to India....
India needs a great canal system like California. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Aqueduct
Sometime I wonder why we can’t transform water purification system that allows us to use sea water in an economical and sustainable way? Earth is over 70% water and that should be the last thing on action item list but it’s not.
Two reasons. This can be done very efficiently using nuclear reactors, but people are afraid of them and rather die from starving than use them. Second, the problem is not the technology or lack of resources but governance
California has desalination systems coming online but they burn far too much energy .. unless wind and solar supply can catch up up to the power demand this doesn't seem like a realistic option .. burning more fossil fuels just results in more droughts
Our planet is overpopulated
Where do u live ?
How does that matter?
Just asking .
