Why does Dropbox still exist? Stock has dropped in the last 5 years. It’s so pathetic. The bigger question is, why do engineers still work there? TC: See username. That’s monthly.
They treat employees well… but I agree, it’s a dead company.
That’s something.
They’re not as big as they were once valued but I’ve seen Dropbox being used in the wild in some unexpected places. The tone of this post seems really pissed and I’m not sure why?
Simple reason - 💸💸💸💸
How does their pricing make any sense?
Probably doesn’t. Lol.
Dropbox is a feature not a product
And not that unique of a feature either.
Good wlb and TC
Ok I understand that OP is making FiftyK per month only because of stock growth n thats why pissed off coz some of his friends are moving to Dropbox n he is puzzled why !! See the point is NVIdia needs to keep that stock growth for giving u 600k whereas dropbox business though small is good enough for paying $500k+ without stock growth. It exists because we r mainly focused on small businesses n users n. Ot the typical personal accounts. The growth is pretty constant (not great need to improve) but very very safe n consistent hit. Have been exceeding the expectation on wallstreet since last 5 quarters but the problem these days street expects that u need to beat by a big margin. Overall due to consistent business growth n new ventures we are all set for decent growth. TC: $40k/month iC3
Haha dude try again next year you will get thru the phone screens of dropbox even though u couldn’t make it this time. Why so angry ! 🤣
It’s not a bad idea to buy a “boring” business. Matter of fact, a boring business that you understand well is what Peter lynch loves. The space dropbox is in has been highly competitive all these years, it’s not news and people been declaring it a dead company since probably 2014 as far as I could tell from some quora questions. 8 years later, Its revenue and cash flow are still growing, hardly a dead or dying company to me. The situation is kinda like what’s happening to a language called Java, been hearing that it’s dead or dying for a decade now. Probably another couple decades before it actually falls out of top 10 most used language. But again, why da fuck are you still coding to make a living after a couple decades and if you won’t be, why da fuck do you care? Lolol
Honestly, it’s hard to think that OP wasn’t rejected by Dropbox in some way or form otherwise people don’t usually hold such a grudge against a company that never matters to them. Or perhaps OP bought a lot of Dropbox stocks and have not see any profit from it?
I am a dedicated Dropbox user for years because for someone with a large amount of files (millions, 2TB) it works so much better than OneDrive or GDrive. Less CPU drain. Fast download. Whether this can sustain the business, I dunno, but I have been happy to pay for it.
Also I should add the selective sync, remote erase, fantastic search which even finds words in photographs really quickly, history rewind features are all much better executed than competitors and I use them everyday (well, not remote erase, but it is nice to know it is there).
Pre pandemic, the cafeteria was pretty good
Yeah? That enough?
Best of any company.
