What’s the funding situation at Motional , last I heard was that Hyundai and Aptiv are less optimistic and skeptical after cruise fallout
Q4 earnings call from Aptiv says they’re out officially and that was released publicly this morning
Pretty sure Hyundai is going to just receive a larger stake post funding. It'll no longer be a 50/50 split between Aptiv and Hyundai.
I wonder how much larger? Also wondering if there are new investors up on the table
There weren’t any other investors before and they need to close funding soon, so I assume no new investors at this point.

My guess is that Hyundai will invest a bit more than before but not enough runway cash to keep current structuring so they will pivot a bit on their goals and OKRs and will have some sort of layoffs OR the company will completely fold because the $ Hyundai invests isn't enough to keep the company going and is not worth the risk
I agree that HMG will fork over some dough here by the end of month as stated in slack, but will likely be less than before and will require restructuring or possible site closures. The Boston site is a ghost town. I could also see HMG just buying Motional out by years end or sooner and just clean house and turn us into stack av 2.0.
@NdJi08 hope you made it through the layoffs. I’m predicting the same as you with HMG absorbing Motional and taking over.
Iirc Motional was planning to start operations without an assisted fleet in las Vegas. Did that materialize yet?
