Uber: where the the balance sheet is made up and the P&L doesn’t matter
Big financial institute buy competition. Now monopoly
Look at the public numbers on market share. This will be nowhere near a monopoly.
soo uber laid off a bunch of people to do this. How many employees does postmates have?
Maybe around 1000. Uber was trying to acquire Grubhub initially, 2700 employees.
Don’t forget that Uber tried to acquire GrubHub before us. Uber just doing this to keep them afloat. They’re losing money in their ridesharing so they need to keep money coming in. I think the offer was low given we have Serve and celebrity clientele. Uber wants to be a conglomerate, but I expect layoffs will be coming in a year or so.
Postmates is a lot cooler than ubereats. But ultimately I think it’ll end up more like the Grubhub / Eat24 acquisition with one brand remaining. Though there’s no way to know
