did anyone learn unity without any programming background? I’m curious to see if i can channel my creativity in this route. I’m not trying to make a career out if it. just looking for something that is fun, sharpens my brain and gives me the joy of creating something #unity
You can totally use unity without a programming background. There are plenty of Visual scripting plugins that are good enough to make most casual things and even some released games have used it. And lots of components and stuff you can just do through the editor
Have a look at Playmaker for Unity, Bolt, Timeline, and a myriad of other plugins on the Unity Asset store that will help you create something without writing code.
I know unity and unreal, but have only shipped games in unity. I’m also not a programmer, but you’ll probably find you want to do some visual scripting if you want to make anything happen in either engine. Unless you want to learn the rendering art process and make mostly static scenes. I haven’t done visual scripting in unity but unreals is very robust and well documented for learning, and it’s taught me a lot about programming in the process. You can def learn unity though, lots of good documentation out there too
Have a look at "How making indie games changed my life" on YouTube. It's a dude that doesn't have any prior experience in programming that tells about his journey making games.
Its possible. There's an arts guy who decided to pick up unity with no programming exp to get into technical design or something. A year or 2, he's doing okay.

Unity is cool, a lot of issues seem to be unity specific rather than programming. I suggest trying Godot as well!
