Hi All, I'm a Senior DevOps Engineer (Titles don't matter) at a payment processing company based in Florida and am looking to gauge my overall situation compared to what's out there. I'm in my mid 20s and have 5YOE, 2Y being with my current role (1Y contract, 1Y FTE). I work 100% remote and have never met my team and am making a decent salary, 113k, ESSP which I utilize. I received a 3% raise which was explained as "Low earnings for the company" and it was expressed to all folks at an All Hands call. This seems like chump change compared to what I see on blind. Overall my workload is low, anywhere from an hour to 4 hours of work per day so I have a bunch of time for self-development, studying etc.. Before this role I was making 55k and received a 3% raise after a 6% salary cut company wide due to Covid. Left a month later. I've interviewed at other locations, but the tech wasn't what I wanted (i.e IaaS, Baremetal) and recieved offers ranging from 120k-150k. I have experience with Bare metal, IaaS, PaaS, CaaS (Little Kubernetes), SaaS infra, networking, architecture cloud (Azure), Git, scripting (Bash, PS), CICD (Tons of tools in between) What can I do to get myself to the next level of $200k+? Blind Tax: TC 113k YOE 5
A bit difficult without python, go and advanced k8s for 200k all cash
Consider this...Work 1 hour a day, live frugal, build a business on the side or just enjoy your life, and stay happy.
