Relocating to CLT, NC from India. What is good salary to survive with a 2 year kid and non working wife. Also, what are salary expectations from Bank of America Band 5 VP/ AVP in Charlotte, NC for Operations and Finance roles? #finance #Charlotte #Bofa #AVP #VP
When I lived in Charlotte I made $80k a year and had a 2,000 sq ft home outside of plaza midwood on 0.5 acres for $1300 a month (mortgage, insurance, and taxes) ate out every weekend and lived extremely comfortably. Now I am in Seattle at 130k and live much more uncomfortably. Charlotte is way cheap, median income is below 50k.
When was this? House prices have sky rocketed!
This must’ve been ages ago. You can’t find anything like that anywhere near that now
Interested to know also. $80K from above poster still seems low to me but obv depends on experience, role etc.. or they're taking advantage of visa holders...
CLT is getting expensive as everywhere else is. Chances are they will low-ball you because you are on a visa. Expect to be lower than a native pay by a wide margin.
Band 5 gigs salary range depends more on the role. Housing in CLT has gotten to be pretty outrageous lately. Think $100k is doable depending on other expenses (cars, student loan, day care). May need to have a longer commute to keep it <$2k month rent/mortgage for a house.
This. I’ve seen two bedrooms neat optimist hall go for over 2k
