1. For a 5000 year old country a 500 year old language can't be national 2. Hindi is not even a real language. It's a group of dialects that merged into a neo language. Unlike other Indian languages Hindi doesn't even have its own script. It on borrowed devanagari from Sanskrit 3. Hindi has no grammar treatise (panini for Sanskrit) Hindi s grammar was formalized by national law by parliament 4. For a country boasting of rich heritage, Hindi doesn't have much literature to take pride in. There's just handful of stuff like ramcharitmanas (not original, copy of Sanskrit) and Kabir Doha. So stop saying Hindi is the national language. Stop assuming everyone knows or should know Hindi At the very least stop using Hindi in blind 🙏🏼
I mean it is technically spoken by majority of Indians so it’s a national language. All other Indian languages are unofficial Same thing with America, we speak English here. Spanish is unofficial
1- Who said it is ? 2- Like any other language people are free to use whatever language they want to use as long as they’re not imposing 3- why are you so upset ?
In which old age are you to not know Hindi is imposed?
It’s as imposed as any other language in India. Fringe elements have always been there. Go to some places in Maharashtra and they are breaking banners cause it’s not in marathi. Bangalore is imposing language these days. I spent 6 months in kerala once and every other day I was asked to learn the language else leave or suffer. But I understand it’s the law of the land and don’t go online and be a cry baby about it.
Karenge bhai use Blind pe bhi. Bata kya karega?
lol get a life

Yahan bhi “speak in kannada” chahiye kya ?
Entitled log hain bhai
You idiot, a) a 500 year old language can definitely be a National language, most European languages of today are of this vintage including modern English, older varieties are not intelligible today. b) there was no sense of a United india pre British colonialism / there was some vague sense of a United north India in Mughal times which is where Hindi / Urdu first emerged as a lingua Franca for the subcontinent You are correct that Hindi/Urdu has been imposed on non native speakers by a certain elite in both India and Pakistan but honestly you need brush up on your history
Mahabharat is an epic older than 2500 years. It’s the longest epic story in the world. Bhagwad Geetha is the holiest book in Hinduism is a chapter from this. Mahabharat = Great India Many ancient Indian books already declared that the country from the Himalayas to the Ocean is the greatest country. So the idea of India/Bharat/Hindustan is more than 2-3 millennia old.
A national language doesn't have to be old or have a rich history. It just has to be declared by the government
India hasn't made such a declaration.
Wikipedia says "There is no national language in the Republic of India. However, article 343(1) of the Indian constitution specifically mentions that "The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script." I am not Indian and I don't understand how those sentences aren't mutually exclusive. I'm just saying that your arguments in the OP are irrelevant
