Should I buy a PS5 or upgrade a GPU in my PC?
Not sure what to do. I started having an itch to finally upgrade my 1080 Ti to, say, 4070 Ti Super (other options appear not to be worth it), but then my PC could be bottlenecked by CPU, which is Intel i9-7960x. Looked at console prices, and PS5 is much cheaper in comparison and it's a solid package with games being optimized for it. Time to abandon PC gaming? TC: $230k base + stock options.
Upgrade your PC!! I barely touch my PS5 since my gaming PC.
I like gaming from a couch. I have a Switch for simple games, and also an old Steam Link that I use for streaming from my PC, but it only supports 1080p.
Why don't you touch your PS5?
Pick up a 7800xt or something similar instead. Spend the rest on steam sales.

PC forever. I would go for following PC Spec: RTX 4070Ti Super (Display Res 2k) or 4080 (Display Res 4k) AMD 7800X 3D Decent 32G DDR 5 6000+ Mhz RAM in 2 sticks of 16G each Gen 4 2TB NVMe SSD 2k High FPS / 4k Screen depending on kind of games
If you game to chill, get the ps5. You sound like a person who works on a pc all day. Personally, I don’t like mixing my job, my hobbies and my play/relaxation time too much. I love cooking and spend all weekend cooking sometimes but if I worked as a chef, fuck that, kitchen is the last place I’d wanna spend my weekend. The shittiest feeling in the world is getting tired of something you love doing. Don’t let that happen to you, get the ps5 lol. Also, nothing beats gaming on a couch, cuddling with your partner and pet imo.

I would upgrade graphics card personally. You can use it for a lot of fun stuff if you’re a programmer. Training models on the cloud can be super cheap—- or crazy expensive
