What are the site perks in Florida? Do they have snacks ? Lunch ? Dinner ? Any team activities? Company events ? Culture there? I got an offer that is lower than my current role and wondering if being in space business is worth the pay cut. Current TC: 120k +40k RSU/4 New TC: 100k + 31k equity/5 #aviation #blueorigin
Engineer level 2. I have 7 YOE but about 5 of them related. I was expecting level 3
That sounds about right. I got 93K for engineer level 2 with 3.5 YOE
I am phd + 10 YoE (all experience related to product I am working on but in automotive) I was offered level 3.
You are taking a huge pay cut going to blue. Is it in the same cost of living? Not sure what your current RSU are. If they are real money, you blue offer sucks and you shouldn’t take the role. Space business is nothing special and it’s not worth it if you are losing money. Remove the 30k stocks out of your blue TC and compare it with your current TC - rocket launches from the balcony - info in the first comment is accurate - culture depends on the team but overall relaxed and okay.
Space business can be a step up if OP is coming from pure defense or heavy industry. It's not tech though
I am not contesting that it is a step up from defense. But is it worth it to take a 25% pay cut? I would say F no. Because blue is not going to compensate for that loss on a 5 year time frame. There will always be that 15-25% pay cut for a long time till you are promoted and move to the next pay band.
Bro/sis you are literally me lmao. I am taking a paycut to go to Blue Origin FL. Subreddit r/BlueOrigin says the facility is state of the art. Has free snacks and coffee, as well as a gym. I think you can bring pets as well? Just FYI on the equity, I hear it's pretty much worthless until Bezos decides to take Blue public/sell the business/raise funds. Might I ask what position you got and YOE?
