How is Groq these days? They seem to be hiring? is it a good place to work? Good comp and WLB?
I believe there were two founders at the beginning? Where did the other founder go?
I believe the founder with the correct vision remained, it's common for some management to leave a startup (look at Facebook) if they aren't a good fit anymore. I think some of the other HW startups, had to fire most of their management a year ago, since things were going poorly. At least that's what the other HW startup posts say and what some of their ex-employees said. So change in management is common in the startup world, even in big tech (like at Intel, who changed their CEO 3-4 times in the last few years).
Also, the Social Capital VC backing seems pretty good.
I would say they have a very good product and smart people, but yes not many original people left in the company. Overall i would recommend to join as its a very good opportunity to join before you miss the boat.
Looks like they are opening a site in Toronto now!
Any data points on Groq TC?
What’s the interview process like at Groq?
It's pretty rigorous - a bit harder in some aspects than a typical FANG interview. Basically you have to code on the spot. They also probe you on design and soft/cultural aspects also to make sure you're a team player and can "think outside the box". Some of the questions are not typical "tech design" questions - they try to ask questions that are agnostic to a specific technology, and more just drives how you structure problems and if you can come up with your own answers / drive something on your own.
Can you please provide some data on TC for HW engineering 8 YOE?
Besides the founder, all the early employees had left and many had gone back to Google. I’m not sure it still worth going after all the stock dilution.
