What are the thoughts on Samsara? I've seen very few and very conflicting opinions about this company. What's the WLB/TC/culture like? GD reviews seem to indicate that TC has been (/will be) increased recently? #samsara

Great WLB Great Culture TC has improved a lot but don't expect fb level tc pre IPO. I'm pretty confident TC post IPO will be 4x of FB
+1 to all except - 4x of FB would be if you joined 2+ years ago. Join now - more like 1.5-2x which is still pretty good imo.
What's the TC like? Are the bands known to employees?
Wlb depends on your team and can be very different. Same for the culture. This is why everyone has a conflicting opinion
Which teams have it good?
Historically WLB has varied wildly with some teams under significant prolonged pressure. From what I’ve heard things have improved across the board, in part due to extensive reflections on attrition and six month leadership training for management including senior leadership. I don’t know of any teams I wouldn’t recommend to friends at this point.
How is the interview process, is it similar to Facebook/Google(LC -medium/hard) ?
My gf interviewed at fb and got easier mediums, just FYI
Now is a great time to join. Great WLB, incredible CEO, interesting problems and tech stack, awesome coworkers, entire company just got significant raises and new hire offers are much more competitive now in both cash and equity. Also offers are still using outdated undervalued valuation from peak of pandemic when there was a ton of uncertainty. Since our three core businesses (fleet, industrial, connected sites) are in infrastructure we continue to thrive even during pandemic situations. True value of shares is likely much higher than the outdated value used in offers.
Is samsara allowing any teams to work remote??
Engineering and Product have options to work remote, likely to extend to other teams in R&D soon
At Samsara, prepare to pull your hair out in frustration for things that you don’t get frustrated at with other jobs. Sr Management (director/VP) is an absolute disaster here - incompetent and inexperienced- and you’ll immediately question how the company is the least bit successful. I recently left, have bigger work load at new job, but am 10x happier due to no longer working under imbeciles. Glassdoor has a lot of truth to it despite the company desperately posting one-liner 5 star reviews to improve the rating. And no, it’s not just sales.
