Hi everyone, I'm currently a Big 4 public sector consultant with 3.5 years of experience, earning $115,000. I've been offered a six month contract-to-hire position at Booz Allen Hamilton, working with the same government agency (IRS). The role involves initially working through Kforce as a W2 employee at $90 per hour, with a conversion to a $170,000 salary later on. I'd appreciate your opinions on whether it's worth taking this contract-to-hire position and if Booz Allen Hamilton commonly converts contractors. Thanks!
Just to be clear, this experience is with a fintech and with a different vendor (not kforce )
Thanks for your input! I was curious to see how similar situations worked out.
I’m from Booz Allen here! We wouldn’t offer contract to hire unless our intention was to hire you at the end of the contract. I’ve hired plenty of resources from kforce after contract-to-hire ends!
Thanks for your insight! I just sent a DM with some questions
Agreed with the other sentiments around here. Booz also doesn’t have issues with hiring people with the intention of using them in a role 3-6 months down the line. Source: Me, as an interviewer
Contract to hire is a low risk test of your skills and competency. Pass and you get the salary on conversion. Fail and we can easily cut you as a contractor.
Sounds like a great opportunity When I moved from a full time job to CTH, they initially promised to convert in three months then the process took more than 8 months to complete. And just before I got the full time offer, the company had a hiring freeze and never got the full time offer. They also have a cap on how long they can keep a contractor without converting to full time (18 months) I would guess booz Allen to be better than that, but just sharing my experience
