Five to ten years ago, crazy stuff were all around. Mentioning a few -- 1. Autonomous driving - Theory was there but only few had a working prototype and the number of people working on it were still quite limited. Now, all the autonomous driving companies are bloated mess and the main focus is scaling and regulatory requirement satisfaction. 2. Autonomous flying & delivery - Crazy ideas were coming around from Uber ATG, Aurora flight science, Kittyhawk etc. Drone delivery stuff from Amazon Prime Air, Zipline etc. Same story as (1) now. SpaceX is still doing crazy stuff but not so "mind-blowing" anymore. 3. Other stuff - Boring company turned out to be fluke. No one knows WTF Neuralink is doing anymore. What is "mind-blowing" these days? Zuck's Metaverse might be the only one because of their haptic gloves.
I was mind blown by the incompetence of ftx

My son says flying cars, may be I will ask him to patent it😀
It's called a helicopter. Extremely expensive to operate. Very loud, and most dense urban ban it from flying within city limit due to noise and crash concern. It's not only a physic issue, but also a city regulation issue
Aside from helicopers, “flying cars” is such an old stuff
