Is Amazon still letting new grads in after just an OA? Even Nokia has a higher bar than that lol
I have gone through 4 rounds of actually quite tough interviews for amazon... not sure if the rumors of low bar are true. I’d say questions were probably a bit easier than google only if even that.
Industry hire bar for L5+ is legit. L6+ bar is comparable to any other FAANG, if not higher (I have seen multiple people who would never make Amazon L6 bar make the FB E5 bar and get much higher offers). It's only new grad hiring where the bar was totally debased in 2018/2019. Not sure if they fixed this.
I interviewed at both google and amazon in 2018. The amazon questions were only slightly easier as plannin suggested. Although google tends to go into follow up questions whereas amazon just asks one and then half the interview is on LPs I wasn’t a new grad (had 2yoe) but was my first fang job
I have heard mixed stuff. Few friends had to go through 3-4 rounds of intense coding interviews and few just had OA and 1 “code review” explains the code they wrote in OA.
It’s based on your performance in the first 3 OAs. If you do well, you’ll get 1 final round
But the ones who got got 3-4 rounds were super geniuses and the one who got 1 OA is not that smart. But all of them now work for Amazon so idk how that works
People who applied with March to mid May window got the low bar, 9-10 people from my class got in last year. They even had almost similar questions. Rest have to do proper loop.
I interviewed at mid March this year, the coding round was medium lc! The ML and deep learning knowledge were asked in very details! For research, they asked a lot of questions in both depth and width! Maybe depends on the team who was interviewing the candidates
I am talking about New Grad SDE positions
What's OA?
Online Assessment
Got it. Thanks.
Never seen Amazon did that! I got 6 virtual interviews for the virtual onsite round
