BCG India Salary IIT

What salary does BCG offer for Associate position in India? Can someone tell the CTC and breakup? Are there any stock options provided? I am an old IIT final year student and is aiming for both software companies and BCG in my placement season. #consulting #bcg #mckinsey

Approx 20 L TC (for the IIT tag, others make around 15 L) For that average pay, the bad WLB isn’t worth it IMHO. Just go for software companies, if you want TC go for Uber: 32L TC approx at Tier 1. (I’m talking about Tc=total comp per year, not the inflated Ctc)

Hi, Thanks for the advise. I'm actually a CSE undergrad and have done a couple of software engineering internships (at Samsung, Morgan Stanley) and realised coding is not something I would want to do in long term as a career. I just saw BCG is coming for Associate position in my placement season and I'm hell confused what to do. I haven't touched consulting yet but it sounds pretty interesting to me. Not sure if it is worth taking a chance. The only reason I'm having a dilemma is: If I decide to do an MBA let's say after 2-3 years (assuming I get bored from SDE) and then join BCG as a consult, would there be a large difference in my take away salary? If that is the case, isn't it better to join BCG directly by passing out from IIT? I know I'm sounding like comparing apples and oranges but I'm hell confused what to do in my career and I have only 2-3 months with my placement season kicking in.

Indian MBA’s are like a reset to your career. All MBA grads at BCG come in at the same level with the same salary regardless of what they did before their MBA. So there will be no difference in your take-home salaries. However, being at BCG pre-MBA makes it easier to actually get the placement. One more important point, you don’t get promoted without your MBA so you will have to do it anyways
