Feels sad to read this. Lucky that I'm not a part of such company. A "996" work schedule refers to an unofficial work schedule (9 a.m. ~ 9 p.m., 6 days per week) that has been gaining in popularity. Serving a company that encourages the "996" work schedule usually means working for at least 60 hours per week. https://github.com/996icu/996.ICU/blob/master/README_EN.md
12 * 6 = 72
It makes me feel so bad for all the employees in the 996 list.
Sad.
This is so sad in China.
Hedge fund people do 8-11-6.5 and have no complaints
They get paid way more too
They are doing 996 every day, hedge fund might have a break during the year
It's actually not that bad. Most of you don't know how it feels.
Refreshers at Chinese companiee are insanely good, easily beat fb/g. Guess that's the price you pay
Disagree. In most of those companies you don't get any stock. They give you few months of salary as bonus if you overtime. My friend has started working in a Chinese company and he's kinda regretting now.
BAT and “a Chinese company” are very different things.
Serious question: what’s stopping these employees from finding another job?
Similar pay
So if they’re getting paid, it’s their choice, isn’t it? It’s not like they’re slaves. I feel employees should be educated on the bad effects of this work schedule just as much as companies...
'gaining in popularity' not in US.
