It is depressing to see many (50+% of 35k+ ) have not received any offer frm Broadcom as part of the acquisition/merger of vmware. Exact numbers are not out, thousands will have no job in coming months. Edit: additinal info: My entire BU has seen retention of closure to 95+% very few didnot receive and the mgrs have confirmed it is unlikely the rest would get the retention offer. Fyi below is a reference on waves of offer letter that were sent. Internal talk is around 18k offers were sent and rest were not and some BUs have not seen single offer due to some other plans for those specific units.

Holy shit, really? More than 50%? What a shit show.
Eh seems like bullshit to me. There are no public metrics indicating anywhere near 50%.
Likely needs to be 90%, so 50% - is a mercy
Are they going to pay severance to these folks?
Yeah, but package depends on country. In the US, it's 2 months + 1 week per year of tenure (up to 12 years). Transition offers get an extra 2 months + 2 weeks per month worked (as incentive to stay through the whole transition period).
It’s 4 months of severance
If anyone have not got offer letter yet, does it mean they are being let go?
Probably so, but possibly not. Time will tell over the next few days.
It’s very BU and country specific. 90% of my team got offers. Those of us that were not first round picks are currently undrafted free agents… until/unless severance letter is issued.
Acquisitions bring with a lot of overlaps. Most often sales is hit. Note to anyone going through M&A- start interviewing and keep a bird in hand.
HR, IT, Sales, Marketing are usually let go. But Broadcom is also likely to shut Dian some product lines.
Good advice, Altair. I work in software M&A and have seen this scenario hundreds of times.
It’s more like 30% of company.
This sounds like fake news, broadcom does not send offers until transaction closes. been through one of those
Most people in my department have received offers
Most ppl in VMware recieved on 23rd and 24th. We have a slack channel that has 22k ppl in it and many posted they got offers. So it's not fake.
That’s crazy. If anyone impacted needs a TikTok / Bytedance referral, DM me
My dude, you're more rampant than antibiotic resistant Chlamydia.
That’s Tiktok/Bytedance for you
