Started a new job 3 months ago(not TripActions). Got reached out to by Google. Can directly go onsite because I had a phone screen about a year ago that went well. Not sure if I should work a year and then interview for better chance at L4 or just interview now. Haven't been leetcoding for a while so also pretty rusty on that. Recruiter said I could also push the interview back 1-3 months but not sure if I want to do that cause then I'd be closer to just hitting a year at current job so why not just wait the full year then However, if I push the interview by 9 months to hit the year at current job, I might have to do phone screen again YOE: 1.5(In US)+ masters TC: $190k LC count: ~742(25/60/15 difficulty split)
What's so special about the 1 year mark? I would push back 1-3 months and LC
More time to prep. Maybe higher shot at L4(although probably not). Also thinking how it'd look being at a new company for only 3-4 months
Don’t delay if you think you’d be interviewing for L3 in a year.
I'm in the same boat, I spoke with the recruiter and will be interviewing in a few months. But my LC count is half yours and I'm quite out of touch and generally a stupid person
Me too and I still got the job lol if you try your best you’ll be surprised
If you had an offer from Google today, would you want to complete the year at tripactions? If you were to wait an year and fail at the Google interview, would you have wanted to fail fast earlier?
Not at TripActions anymore. And it strongly depends on the Google offer. I know Google tends to low-ball/downlevel without competing offers but I also know it's hard to time that I have other offers during Google's due to HC and team match For the second part, I guess the bigger thing not failing but whether I should stay a year at current job
Let’s say Google gave you a good offer, then?
If you pass hiring committee I believe you have a year to find a job. So you can interview in x months and if you pass committee you can refuse the offer at that time and try to join later.
If I refuse the offer say 2 months after passing HC, and then try to join later around 10 months after passing HC, and then I get promoted at current job, will they adjust comp?
How’s your grip on graph theory, dp, and trees? I hear that these are the common topics G interviewers ask in on-sites. If you want to mock interview, dm me.
Dp is ok except for those insane hard ones. Tree knowledge is decent. Graph theory is decent. I wouldn't say I'm very smart, just a grinder
Insane LC count
Lol is that enough for google?
@AE, even 2000 isn’t enough. If it isn’t your day even 5000 isn’t enough. So quit thinking that higher LC count is better.
LC total count may not be a good data point. Do you participate in contests? If you have a rating >1900 you should give it a shot now
Nah, I don't participate in contests
That LC count tho
