Kaiser Permanente reference check?

Hi, Applying for a tech role at Kaiser. I remember that many companies in other industries still ask you to provide reference contacts as part of pliminary offer stage. I don't like this process and the tech industry pretty much got rid of it. For people who recently joined Kaiser, could you confirm if this is the case? I'm still early on in the interview process and cannot ask this question directly to find out. Thanks.
