I got an offer from Lucid recently for 125K Base,60k RSU and 10k relocation. I have 3.5 years work experience in automotive. They gave me a junior role. I am wondering if I should take up the offer. Role is non-software(sytems/safety). I had some background in systems safety(1 year) and more in Software. I am in Michigan right now. I think there will be a lot of work (no WLB) and it will be a one way path to no Software Dev ever again..only thing seems good is RSU - that might go up sometime if they get a car out and productionize. But is everything else in life going out the window for work worth it?
Shitty offer. Base should be $140k+ and RSU.... At least $150k? They gave me a similar offer and I told them that I wasn't willing to take a 30% pay cut. I have no idea how they expect to attract talent with their current pay
Are you in a software role?
OPâs offer 60k rsu units and not $60k if I understand correctly
Do not.
Hard pass.
Just dont.
Well, offer is good for BS+3.5yoe with Lucid. Ok with MS if you cannot get in other companies. Any bonus there?
Where are you coming from? I think it depends itâs a good opportunity to get to the Bay. I made a similar move and left Lucid now in a much better position when I was afraid Iâd be in auto forever if I stayed in Michigan. Got another friend that accepted a lucid offer and plans to do the same.
How was Lucid? Does it have a future?
It was ok. I was in and out before they went to the 7 day work week though. As far as a future thatâs a big TBD. Based on the people I worked with and talked to I wasnât sold that they understand how to generate profits in the auto industry.
Is 60k RSU over 4 years or 1 year? Asking because they gave me literally the same offer (and even with same relocation) . I was surprised how low the TC they were offering. I am a new grad ( after masters) .
Itâs a f***ing good offer for new gradâŚ.. I donât know what do you kids expect these days out of college. If you could get in to FANG, you would not interview at Lucid
The company i joined (non faang) another self drivimg has tc 200+. So u are aging but not growing up. It is nothing but compared to what is offered at other places .
Doesnât look like a great offer to consider relocating to an expensive state.
Terrible. Donât take it
Absolutely not, they work 7 days/week
Thanks. And what about the salary? Is it not difficult to live with that salary in California?
I would say they should atleast pay you 135k if not more
