I resigned from Horizon Media / Night Market and gave my 2 weeks notice. I was very professional and did everything to make the transition smooth. I provided all my credentials and provided info to those replacing me. I was told that on the day would be my last day and to turn over everything. Due to "extremely tight deadline" as a reason. PS: No severance or 2 weeks pay.
Who's this Shane we talking about?
Sorry typo
You changed the title but you can't escape the mistake in the poll
Completely normal should be poll choice Working on Wall Street they walk you out the door , cannot even return to desk once you resign
Do you get a paid 2 weeks or some kind of severance in this scenario ?
Nope
Giving you a day to close out seems reasonable. Letting you keep your logins in a security risk. Not paying you for those 2 weeks is unreasonable. If they don't pay you for your notice period, then you should shame them so other people know that they shouldn't give 2 weeks of notice and, instead, quit without warning.
Whenever one resigns, one should prepare to be walked out the door immediately
Fuck. I'll call my manager to the door and quit there
I have seen this happen to people who are going to a competitor or if the team really didn’t like that person.
Not uncommon. Depending on your role, it’s also a security issue to still have you employed after you’ve given notice. Whenever you give notice, you should be fully prepared for that day to be your last; the employer shouldn’t have to keep you around for however long YOU want to stay and work and therefore shouldn’t be required to pay you (to stay the extra 2 weeks). And severance is not common when you are the one choosing to quit. It great that you gave ample notice and didn’t want to leave them in a bind, but you’re not entitled to any payment.
I'm pretty sure they're supposed to pay for 2 weeks. If they don't, make sure to apply for unemployment, although often there's a 1w long waiting week, at least in California UI there is.
1 week minimum lmao. idk if they're still backlogged from covid unemployment cases but it took multiple weeks in 2020/2021 to get anything done.
Are you going to a competitor? If that's the case, that's standard procedure
This happens. They're in their right to do so
