I had a weird interview experience and wondering if I am reading too much into it. context: smallish company/200 employees. joint interview with 3 people. I was internally referred by another VP. Interview: The VP who invited me for the interview was almost not welcoming, uninterested to ask any questions. Finished interview 5 mins early. His boss, the president, & a colleague, head of data science, had a million questions for me, essentially learning from me about an area they want to expand into. I was answering as much as ethics/confidentially would let me, and had to mention that I cant say more on a couple of topics. The uninterested VP cut of his boss’s question short to kick me out of the building 5 min before the interview time was over. I figured I might have pissed him off, as I was slightly distracted at the beginning of meeting, when others were coming in. But his colleagues/bosses were super warm (however selfishly, getting free tech/strategic advice). * Should I write it off as a lost opportunity? * Any way to upgrade? (a clever thank you note, knocking his socks off? as in, as your colleagues questions took most of the time, I want yo ensure I address any question you have for me :P)
Name and shame
Would let it shake out. Could have been a bad day for the dude, or could have been a formality interview and didn't need to waste his time because he knows it's a done deal. Sounds like it was recent, in my recent experience writing thanks you's to anyone you don't have a direct email for is basically a waste (e.g. via LinkedIn, most people don't respond either because they don't use it, company policy, or they were raised wrong)
Sounds like a jerk to work for
