Is the interview training that rock solid where it’s almost as if they’re a user feedback moderator? Is it the culture at fb dry? Or is what I presented most likely blah? it was like presenting to a blank wall. Interviewer had valid and relevant questions about decisions and when conveying the thinking, constrains or strategy behind decisions it was a lot of “hmm” with an uptick type responses. Not many follow ups or clarifying questions if any. Hard to get a read if the clarifiction was understood, unclear, unnacaptable or just not compelling enough reasons for fb’s team standards? I know its a time constrained window so not much room for engagement. But, my gut is that I must have done poorly. Wondering if I’m just trying to make patterns out of static or not.
I had a very similar experience, curious to know what happened with your application? Did you continue forward? Is it common for them to cut you short in the case study? I was well within my 30 mins presentation but was asked to rush through.
The portfolio reviews there are very dry. I remember I was really surprised when they asked me to come do a follow up interview because I thought I had bombed the portfolio review since the reviewers didn’t say much. Yes, they’re trained to ask specific questions and gauge your response. It’s very formulaic. They seem like great people, though. It’s just a part of the interviewing process. Hope you get a callback.
Thanks for sharing your experience, and the good vibes.
