very standard interview question: What are you looking for in your next job? how do people answer this. what i am looking for in reality is nothing special. good WLB good Pay good brand name interesting project - opportuntiy to learn smart colleagues to learn from manager is not an asshole or slave driver. good team dynamics and rapport growth into a EM role questions: can i just say this upfront? i think not 🙄 how do people answer this question usually? not sure asking about WLB is a good idea. are companies negative about it. #interview #tech TC: 290k (at startup. quit snap) yoe: 11
Snap doesn’t have a good WLB. It’s like FB or Amazon. Great pay. But they will Make you work like a slave.
How do you ask about WLB. Anyone have any experience. I have found employers get anxious when asked about WLB. It reflects negatively in the interview.
Seems like the best route would be to ask when an offer is presented. I guess come off as very candid and say that your WLB is very important and have them understand that it can be a deal breaker all while stressing the fact that you get your shit done.
"Tell me about a time where there was tension around shipping on time. How did you handle it?"
moar tc.
More pay and opportunity for progress and development. Less monotonous boring ish.
This is filter question to see if you can BS. "Im looking for a company where there are difficult problems, opportunities to grow, and a friendly culture. What I really like about SoulessCorp is ..."
Honestly I focus on growth as a person and within a team, especially when I was young. When they ask if I have questions for them that's when I get into WLB
Dropbox offers all this :) And a question to ask about WLB is: “When was the last time you took a vacation for longer than a week?”
WLB is my biggest one. I work to live not live to work. Pay comes 2nd to me. That's all I really need. Btw how was working a snap? Seems like a fun place to be
Wlb as primary works for me only if tc is at least past a certain point
