I like google's team better . but tc is low . i didnt like Amazon team . All positions are in Bay Area yoe : 3
Google has a lot of opportunities to learn, hence better for future
Were you in Google or FB before this ? How do you know which team is OP going to .
Google - better for your mental health and you’ll have time to build side projects. What city?
With 3 years of experience hands down it should be Facebook. You are lean and mean now, and fb should be the place for you. Maybe move to google after 5 years.
I guess want I wanted to say wasn’t just about TC. Facebook is a fast moving place where opportunities for growth is higher than google
People would have voted for FB had it not been for the recent suicide incidence.
FB is the safe bet, but if you believe in Lyft as a company, their stock has the most potential.
Can you post your preparation for these companies?
Fb or lyft
Awesome offers op! I wouldn't worry too much about the starting TC at Google since you can grow very fast (6 months to a year) to L4 and the 250k TC if you're decently good (you'd need to be this good to survive FB anyway). Curious how long it took to prep for the interviews (either in terms of time or problems solved) and if there's anything you'd recommend based on your experience landing all four companies.
I’m interviewing with both at the moment. I like Google a little bit better, so I understand why you are thinking about taking the lower comp with a company that you think is a better fit. It’s the wrong decision. Here is why: I keep hearing the same things from all the PMs at Google; it’s really hard to get promoted and the process is complicated. Since you are still early in your career, you are probably better off coming into FB at an L3, staying for 3 years then re-applying to G and trying to get L5 comp. I think going from L3 to L4 to L5 at G will probably take much longer. Playing both companies off of each other is the best way to move up quickly. If G is the company you really want to work for, save it for the next time you’re ready to level up.
Chase that TC at a stable company. So FB
