same level sde. and why? tc: 160
Looking from the outside in, Uber is a lot more transparent with releasing open source software and making a lot of good moves with engineering pr. On the flip side, I've heard hardly anything about snap engineering. I would prefer to see Uber.
Make it a poll
Good idea. Changed
Neither. Stick with MS.
Here’s the difference: snap has a product they can scale infinitely with little overhead or risk. Within their product are a number of other products that also scale. All people older than 12 and under 20 use snap. Uber is In the hardware space and quickly being smothered by both legal issues and in turn smothering consumers with out of pocket costs in the form of increased fares. On top of that they are heavily invested in markets with strong leaders such as rentals, maintenance, etc. Ignore the people talking about engineering. They are engineers with a narrow view on companies. They’ve forgotten that there is nothing to engineer without customers.
Thanks for your thoughts. Helpful!
Ask yourself what you would consume as a consumer, and what those in your network (friends, parents, etc) and that will tell you what to focus on.
Additional advantage for Uber being in SF
Before joining Snap I did not take it seriously. I was very, very wrong.
So what do you recommend
Why? Can you explain? And when did you join Snap?
Snap is a sleeping giant, haters gonna hate 🙃
Comatose giant maybe
I’ll see you at Snap soon! 😊😊
4 years ago there was a term called UASP for the 4 hottest startup at that time. I was lucky enough to get offer from snap and Uber at the same time. The recruiter from Uber keep saying our value will get doubled and give new grad very low pkg. I went to snap for multiple reasons but it seems a good choice. Made big impact And promoted really fast, and the paid is crazy for my YOE. 600k last year and that’s not the cliff..
These polls don’t mean much. The larger company will always win
Its pretty difficult to choose between two downfalling companies. But I would choose Snap
Snap is doing great
No offense from a fellow Verizon employee but I would much rather be in snap or uber. Our TC is laughable compared to theirs
