is there any startup doing similar shit? Edit: - vrbo was founded 12 years earlier than airbnb, so it's not competitor it's a loser, whose website is built by idiots. plus its more like a property management company. - expedia/booking/hotels, they are different animals. it's like goolge / fb compete ads money, but they provide totally different services. Not competitor wrt product. - traditional hotel. ok look, they can also do business on airbnb/vrbo, it's like a citizen is not a competitor to the government. hotel are just an element in this domain, not a player at all. - i agree airbnb sucks, should go out of business in a blink of eye. - my conclusion is fuck yeah airbnb doesn't even have a competitor.
Facepalm
There's something called hotels.
lol. Some people thinking Airbnb is sth best thing since slides bread
Vrbo. Also it’s clearly a market that increases with the number of houses for sale on the platform. Generally this increases as a power of squares for people on the platform.
😶 .. Expedia Group (Expedia, hotels.con and VRBO) and Booking.com
no, they are totally different animals.
You kidding right? VRBO is ABNBs biggest parallel competitor, and Expedia group in general is the travel competitor to ABNB along with Booking.com
VRBO - tho it lists better places/focuses on actual vacation homes Hotels - straightforward Sonder - corporate owned apartments so you don’t need to deal with individual hosts Other competitors were starting to get traction in 18/19 and died a covid death
Airbnb be catfishing their travelers in the most sneaky way.
ABNB is losing its luster after it got over-financialized by the Tiktok/YT crowd trying to make a quick buck. Pre-COVID (I’d argue really pre-2017) was ABNB’s golden age where it made financial sense to stay in an ABNB over a hotel and didn’t cost 1.5x as much. Now hotels are a better deal unless you’re traveling with a large group of friends imo
Airbnb is good if you need a kitchen (for longer stays). Hotels with kitchen (such as residence inn) can be pretty pricey and not as common or near city centers.
Lots of local businesses are not on airbnb due to their exorbitant fees
If you mean like a direct competitor with temp housing as marketplaces, some hotel or OTA are starting to offer it.

vrbo? traditional hotels?
traditional hotels will die very soon. vrbo is almost same as airbnb, curious why it even exist?
Why does Uber exist when it’s almost the same as Lyft?
