Apart from volvo being expensive any downsize? TC: 180K
Toyota is more than enough, Volvo doesn’t add any modern luxury that’s worth the price tag, of course that’s objectionable so to each their own. In terms of reliability, actually both brands are great.
Toyota has zero prestige.
The handling is miles apart. Try handling a curve at 80 miles per hour in a Toyota vs Volvo.
Toyota you can own one for a long time. Volve - lease only
How about used volvo 3-4 years old?
3-4 is the time when they still sort of work well, but then will quickly start falling apart and hit you with repair bill.
Two are very diff. Toyota - reliability. Volvo - safety.
very different, howabout Lexus vs Volvo? Volvo is a unified premium brand/line of vehicles. Toyota proper has a huge range. Use Lexus instead.

Long term reliability, but that's not an issue if you lease. I'm seriously considering a Volvo S60 T8 (phev) as my next ride. But I have no illusions over the complex powertrain (turbocharged + supercharged + battery) being reliable past 5 years. However lease rates are reasonable all things considered ($3k down, $460 a month).
Check the B8 powerplant
Where did you find for 3k down $460 a month?
