And how tf does these companies attract talent?
My job at least is chill af but the pay is really rough, only feasible in lcol
Can you please share your TC and location? Helps level set how it will be..
Wym by chill? Are you just playing games all day or what? Whats a typical day or week like for you?
I've never worked at any of these, but my guess is that the bar is so low and you'd have a lot of extra free time for decent pay (in terms of software eng)
They’re not human. Bots
Places like that do need one thing Get things done That’s it Either you’re diamond or hardworking person far from being genius- as long as you’re getting it done, you’re aces in their books
People are always 💩’ing -> Cash $cow. Sweet wlb?
Worked at a major utility for a couple years. Pay was shit at first but I got big raises and 20% annual bonuses for actually trying. Ended up being decent pay after a few years. Work in one department was chill and I could work 20 hours a week. The next department was a 50+ hour week and constant on-call and paging. That was on their outage management system so makes sense since it was critical and regulated. Avoid those teams. Contrary to popular belief, there is actually some talent at these companies. Not everyone wants to be in FAANG.
Good tips! Was the pay more in the oncall dept? Why did you transfer there?
Why you think talent stay there? The pay is shit, so security then?
They don’t attract talent.
That’s why their service is so shit. Pun not intended
Wdym, being signed out every time I try to pay my bill is a top-notch security feature.
