Seattle east side BRK prices are insane. Are there more affordable suburbs that still have good schools? I've been looking at the following: Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynwood, Bothell, Kenmore, Newcastle and Renton Any of these good or bad? Am I missing any? I'm hybrid and don't want an insane commute. Currently work in Fremont neighborhood. Want to be close to jobs within the city and east side if I change companies. Budget is up to 1.5M. Need at least 4 bedrooms.
You can still find 4 beds in Kirkland for 1.5. Or Sammamish. Or Issaquah.
they probably want new construction......
Newcastle is really good. Great schools too. Just don’t go too far south to end up in the Renton school district.
Renton is really bad.
School district in Newcastle is split between Renton in West Newcastle and Issaquah in East Newcastle. The split extends down into Renton, further east in Renton is still in Issaquah school district. The reason for this is that Liberty Sr is in East Renton Highlands.
Any school can be decent if you spend time making it the kind of school you want it to be for your child.
How do you make it that ?
Idk about that. Hard to change schools in a rough neighborhood cuz you’d have to change all the people/kids.
Shoreline is the most commutable with decent schools and has some private elementary schools too. With 1.5m budget you get get a lot in Shoreline as well. Most 4bed houses will be 900k-1.2mill
Bothell. Do not look any further. Stick with 98012 zip code.
Why are you trying to commute from Fremont to Seattle?
I work in Fremont.
Still doesn’t make sense. R u trying to move to Seattle or commute back n forth
Duvall
Can be affordable if you get townhomes
Townhomes are not good because of all the noises from other people through the walls.
Bothell has good schools and should have 4 bed options in this budget easily.
Bothell <> Fremont commute will be tough
Can you move to the Kirkland office?
