Lockheed Martin Reference

Hello everyone. I am extremely interested in Lockheed Martin Orlando Florida. (I am from MA) I saw some jobs online as Quality engineer. The only problem is that I am in the medical field industry and would like to get into aerospace. Usually LM prefers those with clearance Can someone from the area give me some advice/or referrals. I would highly appreciate it 2.5 yoe in medical devices. With experience on various ISO standards. (Similar to AS)

They’ll sponsor a secret clearance no issue, it’s a tougher sell trying to convince them to sponsor a TS or higher without a prior clearance

People with clearance rarely walk in from the street. You only have to have it as a prerequisite if it’s in the basic requirements part of req. Most job requisitions will say “ ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI (or S or TS) clearance.” what that means is you come in without one, they put you in for one, and then if you are turned down, then they have grounds to lay you off. No harm, no foul. What I’ve seen where I work as we try to find unclassified work for people while they are waiting, And depending on the situation maybe they can stay in that role if they don’t get cleared. Someplace like Orlando where QA is probably constantly overseeing classified hardware assembly, there might not be much unclassified work in your role. Maybe if you’re doing QA at the component level, like the optics they fabricate on site
