Recruiter said he’d get back to me 48 hours after onsite, I reached out at EoD bc I have another offer. Now it’s 72 hours and I still haven’t heard anything. I know it’s early but given this is the timeline he proactively set, does his silence mean I’m never hearing from him again? Also, the team is expanding/hiring for multiple positions, so unlikely they’re waiting for someone else’s decision to make a decision for me

Not necessarily a bad recruiter - hiring team may have multiple onsites or haven’t given them a clear answer.
I mean they set an expectation of 48 hour response so they can at least honor it and let me know if it will end up taking longer?
Depends - very possible that the hiring manager asked them to hold off any communication but in a perfect world yes the recruiter should let you know if timing has changed.
