NVIDIA or Capital One?
NVIDIA has a much better reputation, Capital One hired as a Chief Product Officer and Chief Data Scientist two VPs from Amazon and its market cap is very low (40b$)
Nvidia IC5 is Senior Software Engineer and not Senior Staff
Interesting. On levels IC5 is below the Principal (IC6). On levels senior software engineer is IC3
Ic3, 4 and 5 are all sr sw. Ic6 is principal.
Director in c1 will make you unemployable in future
Why is that ? I know a couple of those who went into Meta or Netflix 😂
Directors here often leave for L7 roles at FANG

There’s no way a c1 will walk into NVIDIA as an ic7. It might map on the internet but it’s very unlikely to go.

Also honestly a lot of aggressive former Amazon vp at Capital One. I don’t think they all joined to live their retirement there

So it depends on what you want to do for work. If you want to manage then you can take cap one and get into middle manager at fang after. Or you could stay an eng and take nvidias offer and your choices for eng arent as bounded as cap one would be. Personally i would choose nvidia as theyre an actual tech co and not a poser.
Capital one is going for new bull run in coming years. Remember me when you make lot of money on equity

I have the same feeling. Bain just shared a report where they say Capital One are the bank with most advanced technology , they hired ex Amazon Vp in key positions, they are only worth 40bn same as Square but much better financials.
