Hi! I’m a recent CS grad from a T10(?) school who started in consulting earlier this fall. I originally wanted to gain some business experience before going back into tech (dumb I know now) but I’ve realized I really don’t like the work or the insane hours and want to leave to go back to tech. I’m nearing 6 months out from graduation, the market doesn’t look too good for new grad positions, and it’s late into the recruiting season, so I’m a bit lost. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do at this point besides just cold apply to any new grad openings I can find, and would anyone be willing to give a referral? For context on background, I’ve done 4 swe internships (including FAANG-level company) and a pm internship. Would be happy to discuss in more detail in DMs! #airbnb #airkit #amazon #apple #asana #ascendion #atlassian #autodesk #avant #avid #fiserv #beyondfinance #block #bttn #bytedance #cashapp #booking #capitalone #carrier #ceridian #charlesswab #checkr #chewy #chronosphere #circle #clari #cleanpowerresearch #climate #cloudfare #conduit #couchbase #coupa #covitas #cruise #coinbase #crowdstrike #crunchbase #cultivate #databricks #datadog #discord #duolingo #discover #docker #docusign #doorDash #doubleverify #dragonFly #dropbox #epsilon #etsy #ebay #evolve #exabeam #expedia #extrahop #f5 #fastly #firebolt #firstmode #fiserv #flexe #floqast #forge #found #gemini #github #godaddy #google #grammarly #groove #handshake #headspace #heb #highspot #hinge #hometap #hyperproof #ibotta #indeed #instructure #invaluable #jasper #jobot #katalystDI #knock #level10 #linkedin #lyft #mason #mastech #mastercard #mediatek #meta #microsoft #Moderna #modis #moloco #movableink #moxion #muckrack #nbcuniversal #nextDoor #nextflix #ngrok #niantic #notable #nuro #nvdia #oddball #oracle #outrider #palantir #paypal #panopto #paradigm #pinterest #podium #point #protingent #qualtrics #quip #quisitive #rapid #reddit #reebelo #remitly #repay #repeat #riccione #ringCentral #rippling #robinhood #roblox #salesforce #scaleAI #servicenow #shiftkey #skanska #skylight #slack #slingtv #smartsheet #snapchat #snowflake #socure #sofi #sonos #sony #spectrum #spotify #square #squarespace #stabilityai #storm3 #strava #stripe #sunpower #symetra #syncari #synchrony #sysdig #system1 #toast #tenable #textNow #tiktok #uber #uprecruit #urbint #usafacts #vanguardrenewables #viasat #visa #vroom #walgreens #walmart #wellframe #wellsfargo #wm #workday #xpansive #zeal #zillow #ziprecruiter #zocdoc #zoox #shippo #calendly #clickup #cloudflare #hotstar #hulu #indeed #mongodb #morganstanley #notion #supple #roku #samsung #sandisk #vmware #wayfair #box #bolt #stumble #deloitte #fidelity #glassdoor #grammarly #groupon #grubhub #tibo #instacart #intel #juniper #lime #nuro #patreon #paypal #peloton #quora #tramp #razorpay #redhat #stackoverflow #tableau #tinder #twilio #twitch #visa #visa #yelp
Honestly, you should suck it up for a year and during your review work on a pan to transition to industry. If you perform decently, MBB all have incredibly strong alumni networks that get their folks back into industry. Get hooked up as a product manager, and then bail on that and become an engineer if that’s what you mean by “getting back into tech”
I was under the impression it’s much harder to go from consulting into pm since it’s apparently what everyone wants
Depends on the company, I’ve seen companies that absolutely stack their PM and PMM teams with ex-consultants, to the point it’s annoying as you guys have a very rigid way of doing stuff lol
How was the bcg interview? I’m the exact opposite, trying to get into mbb from tech lol. Do you have any tips for new grad mbb recruiting next year. Also from a t10 school
Go for it
