Hello Blind community, Wherever I have applied to in pharmaceutical companies like Novartis, BMS, Moderna, J&J etc, I have been asked to relocate to their respective offices location or be in the office twice or thrice. And when I say I want to work from the current location I'm either ghosted by the recruiter or get rejected there itself. Has the WFH magic evaporated in pharma companies? #remotework #wfh #hybrid
Depends on the role. I’ve been remote with GSK and have only been in the office maybe 4 days in 4 years. That being said, I’m In one of their tech groups
Location?
I was on fully remote for 1.5 years now hybrid in BMS
At BMS, unless you are essential workforce which must be on-site daily, everyone else is required to be on-site 50% of your time and that must net out every two weeks. There are some remote by design roles but they are pretty limited overall. For divisional level roles there are select locations where you can be based.
WFH magic was never there in pharma to begin with :)
Jokes apart, I think I never got an interview from pharma companies that could say I could work from home. I was told that either its a company policy to be in the office or it's up to manager.
I wasn’t joking. I’ve worked for big pharmas and deal with them consistently even now. WFH is not a thing for them. Most of their business models are old, you will need to be in office. Let’s say you find a company that allows you to wfh, then your career will be stuck.
