TikTok employees can you answer for Michael Beckerman?

He says TikTok’s code is reviewed by third party inspectors. Is this true? What does it look like? What exactly is reviewed? Because that seems kind of unpractical? https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLP5BGxf/

Yea, especially anything related to US is extremely strict. I work from UK in a development project that deploy software in all regions across the world. Whenever I need to make changes to our code or databases or any of our database sync channels with US data centers you need to include USTS employees and I often have to go through approval for my changes with 3rd party consultants. It is hella impractical and slow, and it can take days for a simple patch to be deployed. And when I need to later check if my patch was successful, I need USTS employees to check logs etc for me. Also, USTS is not allowed to bring their computers out of the USTS offices and they also cannot connect to any other network except for the TikTok USTS network I think

I remember my friend in NYC office who works with influencers and she couldn’t get the influencer’s email unless she went through USDS. She also wanted to ship a TikTok care package but that also had to go through USDS as she couldn’t get the address to ship it to.
