I’m traveling to India for H1 stamping with expired F1 visa. I have booked Qatar for international travel but I have to take Alaska from Portland to Los Angeles. I only have one PNR for entine itinerary (PDX-LAX, LAX to Doha and Doha to Delhi) Hava you had any experiences with check in being denied due to expired US visa? I called customer service and was told just valid passport is required. But want to check for sanity I have had similar experience with British airlines and American Airlines didn’t let my friend check in. He had to book another airlines and fly home. Thanks
Your friend was probably transiting through London Heathrow which requires a valid US visa or transit visa for non-visa free passport holders.
Is the Alaska and Qatar combined in same booking or separate pnr's? If separate its just a domestic flight and if combined its based on you being allowed at final destination
You definitely don’t need visa for a domestic flight. Passport or driver license is good enough
Updated the post. I only have one PNR for entire trip. First flight is Alaska Airlines and rest with Qatar Airways
The United Kingdom requires you to possess a valid visa to transit the airport if you are from a limited set of high risk nationalities. I don't think Qatar has such requirements or should be more generous. Depends on the nationality of your passport.
Qatar doesn't care about nationality (even Israel) if your just transiting without leaving the airport.
Doesn't matter when you are going to India, only passport should be unexpired. Does matter when coming back, the airline counters in India will check your visa and passport when checking in bags.
You are Indian passport holder . Qatar will be fine

You don't even need a passport to travel domestically. Drivers license is enough
