I am looking for wags to invest in some stable means ideally stocks since they are more liquid. I am saving for my EB5 application and want to apply within next 1.5 year. So ideally I would want to withdraw that amount within 1.5 year. What are good ways to invest so that It dont get too risky. I am expecting around 9% return given that its going to be very safe investment. Thanks #finance EDIT 1: Thanks a lot for replies. I am looking anything more than 6% returns. I am based in india and getting that much return on my savings bank account itself.
IMO don’t invest in the stock market if you need the money within 5 years. 1.5 years is too short of a timeline. I suggest you look into US treasury bonds or AAA rated corporate debt which will net you a ~5% return per year given the current interest rates.

Safe investment means you can get around 5-6% back. If you want 9%, you’re looking at some sort of ETF at best, and it isn’t guaranteed. The whole market is being propped up by like 5 tech companies right now.
Yeah max 6 % for 18 months .. I doubt you will get safe short investments for 9%..
I am fine to go with ETF as well. Its a kind of safe compared to pure stocks. But yes its getting risky for ETF since the time period is less. I can understand. May be a high dividend yeild REITs? They are safe and high dividend yield can be put back into it?
