Title: Senior silicon design engineer location: Bay Area YOE: MS + 4 Base: 165K Rsu: 100K/4 (after negotiation :/ ) Joining bonus: 25K Bonus: 10% I am changing my specialization area within circuit design so I wasn't offered a MTS position. Had a competing offer which they matched. Is it an average offer for AMD Bay area for 4 YOE? Can RSU, joining bonus be increased further? Current TC: 180K TIA #tech #amd #hardware #semiconductor
DM if you need a referral at Pure Storage!
Sounds like a decent offer tbh
Decent offer but for 20k difference in TC is it worth the change?
I want to move from my current domain to a different domain. And this AMD team provides a very good opportunity.
Your current base is 180? No right? Based on that your TC per the new offer will Be 165+25 this year 165+Vested RSU + bonus next year
The current TC is 180. That included everything. :)
AMD never pays full bonus and their stock all time high , in short term it may not increase much
Xilinx team? San jose?
Good offer for bay area. Amd doesn't have good WLB but I would think you won't care since qcom is also not very good in that regard.
RSU is top of the band for L6, but base can be slightly higher (with 1.2CR it’ll be 195k). With your y.o.e. you have to push for the top of the L6 band. Just FYI, maximum recommended RSU grant for MTS will be 170k / 4 years. You’re downleveled due to area change and this is the price. MTS base average would be 180k with 15% bonus target.
Thanks for detailed insight. What do you mean by CR? And how much base would you suggest pushing for?
Is it analog or digital ? Analog circuit designers are typically paid a little higher
Analog.
Your base is very high. Take it
That’s not much of a TC difference. But AMD has always been kind of on the cheaper side in giving RSUs.
